Dance Accessories

Various dance accessories are designed to improve the performance and looks of a dancer as well as add more convenience and comfort to dancers while rehearsing. There are countless different accessories available at online stores and local dance shops. Some are as simple as cute hair ties, while others, such as shoe insoles, serve strictly functional purposes.

Rhinestone hair ties, body glitter spray, black-bow hair ties, rhinestone chokers, fancy headbands, glittery hair pins and fake eyelashes are examples of dance accessories used to enhance costumes during performances. This type of accessory serves no functional purpose, but is used strictly for aesthetic purposes. Most dance companies will require accessories such as fake eyelashes and hair pins for competitive performances.

Dance backpacks, shoe insoles, shoe bags, leggings, warm up sweats, shoe cleaners, Pointe shoe gel pads, and joint wraps are dance accessories used strictly for functional purposes and are rarely seen by any official audience. These type of accessories are most common in rehearsals and warm ups.
